Overview/What’s Included:
Guided Tour
Chakras, Nadis & the Flow of Life Energy: Step into a guided journey through your subtle energy body—the chakras (energy centers) and nadis (energy channels) that shape the way vitality, emotion, and intuition flow through you. In this experiential workshop, we’ll blend gentle somatic movement, breath, and energetic awareness to explore each chakra and its connection to your body’s natural rhythms. We’ll also attune with tuning forks to bring harmony and resonance to the energy centers, inviting a deeper sense of clarity and ease. You’ll be guided to create a small, expressive art piece—a visual map or talisman—to represent your personal energy flow. No art experience needed; this is about embodiment and expression, not perfection.
You’ll Experience:
-
Teachings on chakras and the three main nadis—ida, pingala, and sushumna
-
Somatic and yogic practices to feel your energy pathways
-
Gentle tuning fork attunements for subtle nervous system alignment
-
A grounding creative activity to anchor your insights
-
Space for reflection and integration
This offering bridges ancient wisdom and modern embodiment to help you reconnect with your natural flow of energy and presence. All are welcome. No prior experience needed —just bring your curiosity, a journal, and an open heart.
Group Coaching Session: It’s me…Hi, I’m the problem…it’s ME!
Presenter: Mary Ann Marx, BS, Professional Certified Coach
Do you ever feel like you carry the weight – and blame – of the world on your shoulders? Or perhaps you replay scenarios in your mind, wondering if you could have said/done something differently? You might just be ‘taking things personally’.
We all do it – and YES, there are ways to manage that old mindset and reset to a healthier, happier headspace!
Join us for a group coaching experience where we’ll tackle, once and for all, those tired, old stories that create needless suffering.
Mary Ann Marx, owner of The Abbey at Otter Creek, is also Certified Mental Health Coach with over 13 years of experience helping individuals and groups develop valuable tools to deal with those every day, challenging experiences and learn to build more peaceful relationships.
Breathe Better; A Gentle Exploration of Functional Breathing: Most of us go through our days barely noticing our breath — yet the way we breathe affects everything from our stress levels to our energy, focus, sleep, and even digestion. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore what it means to breathe functionally — and how small, intentional shifts in the way you breathe can create big changes in how you feel. You'll learn how to recognize signs of “dysfunctional” breathing — things like shallow chest breathing, over breathing, or breath holding that many of us develop without realizing it. From there, you’ll be guided through simple, science-backed exercises to help retrain your breath for calm and efficiency.
Dinner: Enjoy a wholesome meal to ground and restore after a full day of connection and reflection.
Somatic Sound Bath: A Journey Into Stillness
Exhale the day and return to your body’s natural rhythm through a soothing blend of guided somatic meditation and immersive sound healing. We’ll begin with gentle awareness practices to help you settle, sense, and soften — grounding into your breath and body. From that place of presence, you’ll be guided into a full-body sound immersion featuring crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other resonant instruments that invite deep nervous system regulation and inner peace. The sound waves will move through and around you, encouraging release, restoration, and energetic realignment — a felt reminder of your innate harmony.
You’ll Experience:
-
Somatic meditation to attune body, breath, and awareness
-
A restorative sound bath to balance and soothe your energy
-
Time for quiet integration and reflection
Bring a yoga mat, blanket, and anything that helps you feel cozy and supported. No experience necessary — simply come as you are and let the sound do the work.
Sunday Morning
*Yoga & Stretch: A mindful movement session to release tension and bring ease and flow to your body.
*Breakfast: Enjoy a nourishing breakfast to awaken your senses and fuel your body.
*Walking Meditation to Otter Creek
*You may elect to add on a massage or facial service at an additional cost.

Embrace the quiet beauty of Winter in Wisconsin with weekend of Scottish culture & wellness!
February 6 - 8, 2026 | The Abbey at Otter Creek, Prairie du Sac, WI
We invite you to "Coorie In" with us! This retreat is designed to honor Scottish culture and the art of Wintering by welcoming in extra cozy activities to promote comfort, relaxation, and renewal.
"Coorie In" is an old, traditional Scottish term that means to crouch down or nestle. Today, "Coorie In" has come to mean a feeling of coziness, contentment and togetherness, similar to the idea of Hygge in the Danish culture.
Partnering with Kindled Community Sauna, we will be offering open sauna times throughout the weekend. You will have plenty of opportunities to drop into the sauna on Friday and Saturday without a reserved time. The Kindled Community Sauna can fit up to 6 guests at a time.
The sauna will be parked outside the Event Center in the courtyard area. Move from sauna to cold plunge for a winter wellness experience unlike anything else!
We will have refreshments, comfortable seating and unstructured sound baths inside to help you rest and recharge. After your sauna time, take a cup of tea over to the campfire under the dark, winter sky to embrace even more time in nature at this truly unique winter retreat.
